Celebrate the 4th All Weekend Long!

There are many celebrations taking place this Independence Day weekend! We’ve compiled a list to help you stay in the loop of all that’s going on. The fun will last all weekend long- make sure you don’t miss a minute!

Fireworks on the Lakefront – July 1 at Indiana Dunes State Park

The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce will host the 3rd Annual Fireworks on the Lakefront Friday, July 1, 2011. The event will take place at the Indiana Dunes State Park & the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Come join the Duneland Chamber and the Town of Porter for live entertainment, food vendors and a spectacular fireworks show. Food vendors will start at 6:00pm with fireworks at 9:15pm.

Blues and BBQ at the Barn – July 2 at County Line Orchard

Kick off the July 4th holiday weekend with a BBQ Rib Cook-Off and Blues Festival at the Barn! On July 2, 2011, County Line Orchard will open the barn doors at 1:00 pm for this family friendly event, featuring a kids corral with inflatables to keep the young ones entertained! Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for kids. Blues and BBQ at the barn will feature five music performances, starting at 2:00 pm, with a fireworks presentation ending the evening at 9:00 pm!

Pride in Portage Independence Day Parade and Festival – July 4

The annual Portage Fourth of July Festival will be held on Monday July 4, 2011. Events will begin with a parade from Willowcreek Middle School to Lute Road at 11:00 am. The events will continue at Trumble Field (5962 Central Avenue; Portage, IN) at 5:00 with food vendors and family activities. The fireworks display will begin at dusk.

Mayor’s Fourth of July Celebration – July 4

Come on out to celebrate the 4th of July in Valparaiso style! Music is provided by the talented local high school musicians and the ConservaDellics, starring Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas! The celebration is held at T. J. Middle School - South Parking Lot, Event begins at 6:30 p.m.; Fireworks at dusk. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket for best viewing comfort. Rain date is July 5.

Crown Point Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks

The Crown Point July 4th parade will be held July 4 at 2:00 pm. It begins at Taft Junior High School and travels north on Main St to the army tank. In the evening, a fireworks show will be held. We are proud to welcome the Mad Bomber Fireworks Production owned and operated by Crown Point's very own Andy James. Many of you may have enjoyed his magnificent fireworks display at last year's Lake County Fair. Don't miss this year's extravaganza which will begin around 9:30pm.at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
