Central Elementary School in Valparaiso Wins IASP Academic Spell Bowl Competition

Central_Elementary_School_in_ValparaisoCentral Elementary School in Valparaiso won the IASP Academic Spell Bowl competition, placing 1st in the state of Indiana! The competition took place at Thomas Jefferson Middle School on Thursday, November 19th and the state winners were announced on Friday, November 20th.

For the second year in a row, Central's Spell Bowl Team brought home a state championship. With positive direction from head coach, Kevin Wallace and assistant coach, Nina Erler, the Central team scored 55 points out of 56 points. These back-to-back state championships have "the whole school beaming with pride." Our team is elated and Mr. Wallace is walking on sunshine!" Our coaches and the team have worked very hard over the past few months getting ready for the big day. Our school is so proud of all of them!
