Central Park Plaza Market Open for Business

Central Park Plaza Market is open for business.  Vendors are out to greet & "treat" you with their fresh produce, hospitality & homemade crafts.

Vendors such as JnJ Organic farm, located out of Kouts, are there with their delicious fresh strawberries, produce and home grown honey.  As the season progresses further into summer they guarantee much more produce for your delight.  Andy Pasquez, the owner, says he comes to the market  for "the interchange of stories--you get to know your customers individually."

For the sweet tooth there are venders such as Valpo Velvet, Homemade Upgrade Gourmet Cupcakes, and Toy Ann's Sweet Shoppe, selling everything from gourmet cupcakes to homemade pies and ice-cream.  Cathy Brown, owner of Valpo Velvet, says she loves coming to the market because she has the chance to introduce people to their lunch menu, saying, "People don't realize we have more than just homemade ice-cream; we have homemade lunch as well".
If you love honey, this is the place to get it from: Local Honey Bee Keepers, like Doug & Julie Remschneider.

They are in their 3rd year of harvesting fresh honey from their own bees.  Doug & Julie said, "The flavor now is lighter from the spring honeysuckle and will change as the summer progresses, from the slight taste of clover in the middle of the season, to goldenrod at the end of summer."

If flowers are what you love, the Market has it all.  Check out Reggies Veggies for  ornamental gourds, Deb's Gardens for handmade birdhouses made from 150 year old barn wood, and LE Garden for some of the most gorgeous flowers and hanging baskets, not to mention the fresh produce they all have to offer.

Don't forget the crafts.  Bella Ragazza is out for the first time  to showcase and sell their hand crafted hair accessories as well as tutus for little girls.

If you haven't had the chance to check out the Central Park Plaza Market yet, don't worry--it runs through October every Tuesday & Saturday from 8am to 3pm, currently right on the court house lawn in downtown Valpo.
