Beyond being one of the most well-known real estate firms in Northwest Indiana, Century 21 Alliance Group makes an extensive effort to help those in need, both locally and worldwide.
“We participate in several giveback programs throughout the year,” said Jeanne Sommer, Owner and Broker of Century 21 Alliance Group. “I couldn’t imagine not giving back to the community.”
Under the United Way of Porter County’s Day of Caring program, the real estate firm has helped take care of dogs at Lakeshore PAWS (a no-kill animal shelter in Valparaiso), clean windows at VNA Hospice, lay mulch at Tower Park, and paint the exterior of Hilltop Neighborhood House. During the 2017 Christmas season, they sponsored various families at Housing Opportunities, collecting and donating clothes.
“We also work with 500 Turkeys [an organization that feeds more than 1,000 families in the region] in collecting food every year, and this year we collected Jell-O,” Sommer said. “Thanks to social media, we were able to reach out to the community and received more than 200 boxes to donate.
“This past November, we sponsored adoptions at Lakeshore PAWS for Veterans in the area,” Sommer continued. “It was so cool because not only did the dogs get a home, the vets received a companion at no cost.”
The firm also donates to Pick & Treat for Tots, giving items such as baby clothes, toys, and diapers.
Giving back to the community is something the Century 21 Alliance Group has always taken seriously. In 2005, the group packed care packages for soldiers overseas, and in 2008 they collected soccer balls for ‘Kick For Nick’, which delivers soccer balls to underprivileged children.
