CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana Paint It Pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For the second year in a row, CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana joins the national movement Paint It Pink, an initiative started by CertaPro Painters that raises awareness and money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. With the success the company saw last year, raising over $25,000 for the foundation, CertaPro looks to double their efforts and commit to $50,000 by month’s end.

During the Paint It Pink initiative, CertaPro Painters raise awareness of breast cancer and research by donating a portion of the money made from every job to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Business and residential homes are encouraged to paint their walls and sidings pink as well, as an incredible way to show their support for those struggling with breast cancer.

For CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana, partnering with the foundation has been an important way they can give back not only on a national level, but a local one as well.

“Last year was our first year taking part in Paint It Pink, and it was a huge success,” said John Jordan, Owner and President of CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana. “We committed to donating $25,000 in the month of October, which came from a portion of all residential interior projects.”

“It was a great way for us to give back locally, along with donating to the foundation,” Jordan said. “We got in touch with Franciscan Health, who connected us to a woman battling breast cancer. We were able to paint a room in her house a beautiful, bright pastel pink for her granddaughter. We just loved that we are able to do something right here in our community.”

With the success CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana saw last year, the team decided to up their involvement. Pledging $50,000 this month, CertaPro Painters will donate a portion from all projects they complete, including residential interior and exterior and commercial interior and exterior.

“Cancer touches everyone’s lives,” Jordan said. “It can affect men and women, though women are touched by it more often. We all have wives, mothers, daughters, and friends, and we all know how devastating breast cancer can be. It was the most viable one that has a great foundation that does a lot to support this cause.”

More than halfway through October, CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana has already seen success in this year’s initiative. Most recently, a condominium complex owned by Sunset Harbor Condominiums opted to paint a series of their Cedar Lake condos a bright pastel pink to complement their architecture and beautiful lakefront views.

“We were ready to jump in with our pink shirts on and get the job done,” Jordan said. “It was a great opportunity for us to show our support for the cause.”
