Challenger Learning Center Plans October Second Saturday Event

The Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will be hosting its Second Saturday Family Science Program on Saturday, October 12 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The event’s cost is $15 per person and will include a mini mission, a laser light show and a planetarium show.

The laser light show will be themed Fright Light Laser and will feature laser art set to spooky, Halloween-themed songs by artists such as Will Smith, Garbage, The Who and more.

The October planetarium show will be South Shore Skies and Black Holes: Journey to the Unknown. What are black holes? How are black holes made? Is Earth in danger of being pulled into a black hole? Attendees will discover the answers to these questions and more during the planetarium show.

Those not wishing to participate in the mini mission may purchase tickets to either the laser show or planetarium show at $5 for adults and $3 for children. A special package including both shows is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

Individual planetarium shows begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Individual laser shows begin at 3:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

The Challenger Learning Center will also be offering a Pizza and Pink Floyd laser show on Friday, Oct. 18 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy pizza and soft drinks and then sit back for a 50-minute laser show presentation of Pink Floyd classics. Cost is $10 per person.
