Chesterton Swimming Sweeps VHS

Chesterton prevailed in the Duneland Athletic Conference dual meet thanks to a number of individual and relay victories.

The Trojans’ 200 meter medlay relay team of Megan McGue, Danielle Richardson, Anna Reyes and Jillian Connors pulled out a first place finish, clocking in a finals time of 2 minutes, 20.51 seconds.

Connors (50 meter free), Richardson (200 meter free), Becca Schmeigel (100 meter breast) and Taylor Clark (200 meter IM) were among the individual winners for Chesterton.

Peyton Mahlmann (100 meter free) and Abby Zombik (100 meter fly) finished in first place for the Vikings.

Chesterton 144, Valparaiso 36 (Boys Swimming)

The Trojans’ 400 meter free relay team of Nathan Wertzberger, Charlie Pullins, Andrew Carlson and Seth Halpin pulled out a win in the event with a finals time of 4:30.85, earning eight points for Chesterton, who prevailed in DAC action.

Carlson (100 meter back), Pullins (100 meter breast) and John Kelley (400 meter free) were among the individual winners for the Trojans.

Valparaiso did not have an individual come in first in any event.

Chesterton boasted the three best diving scores as well. Dylan Grubbs, James Alexander and Michael Phillips totaled 13 points for the Trojans in the 1 mtr. diving event.
