2014-little-black-dress-partyMark your calendar for 6pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2014! Chicago Street Theatre’s Little Black Dress Party is almost here. This fabulous event includes “The Look for Less” fashion show with fashions from Tevlyn at Bargain Barn and new this year, kids clothes from Once Upon a Child Valparaiso. The evening of fashion, food and fun, that was voted as one of the “Ten Best Events of the Year” by ValpoLife, will feature delicious appetizers and a cash bar provided by Pikk’s Tavern. This marks the third year that CST is hosting this one-of-a-kind style show with proceeds benefitting the theatre’s ongoing mission of providing quality arts to the community.

“There’s something for every age, shape and style. This is the most unique fashion show I’ve ever seen!” states Shirley Remijan, who has attended both LBD events in the past and has her tickets for this year. Theatre members, Mary and Lindsay DeBoer will be walking the runway this year and shared that they’ve had such “a great time” in previous years, that they plan their entire month around The Little Black Dress Party .

The third year for the event will feature: an impressive silent auction with unique gift baskets including spirits, spa services and restaurants, original works of art, and an overnight package in Chicago. In addition to great auction items, the theatre will also hold a raffle called, “Tinis ‘’N Treasure” for a chance to win a beautiful 5 carat citrine ring accented with diamonds, generously sponsored by Jeffrey's Jewelers when participants purchase a martini from Pikk’s. Those attending the event can also pamper themselves with Mini Manicures from Salon Diva or a chair massage by Phil Parmigiano . Runway models appearing in the style show will have their hair and makeup done by Terry Abner Salon and Beauty Pros & Pro Perfect Cosmetics.

The star studded runway lineup will be seen on the set of CST’s upcoming production of Rabbit Hole opening May 23 and will showcase fashions worn by theatre members, local business people and community leaders. Hosts Tevlyn Schwerd and Eric Brant say that Little Black Dress will impress you with boutique style couture without the high end price tag. Tickets are $25 in advance ($30 at the door) and are available at Bargain Barn, Once Upon a Child, Pikk’s Tavern, Salon Diva, Regional Federal Credit Union and Chicago Street Theatre box office (219) 464-1636 x1 or online at www.chicagostreet.org.
