Chicago Street Theatre Presents The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother

Worlds-Worst-Fairy-Godmother2013Chicago Street Theatre is bringing families a Popcorn Festival treat with their production of The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother by Bruce Coville. In this enchanting story, based on Coville’s popular children’s book, Maybelle Clodnowski, a bubbling fairy godmother, has just messed up her 47th assignment, and is given just one more chance to keep her wand and her wings.

Unfortunately her task is no easy one. Maybelle gets assigned to a very difficult client named Susan and her past magical mishaps have created some dark forces that are working to sabotage her.

Performances are: Friday at 7 PM and Saturday & Sunday at 2:30 PM; August 30- September 14 at Chicago Street Theatre, 154 W. Chicago Street located in downtown Valparaiso. Admission is only $10 for Adults, $8 for Seniors (62 & Up), and $5 for students (up to 21).

On August 30, an Opening Night Party will be held at The South Bend Chocolate Factory’s Chocolate Café on Franklin St. in Valparaiso following the show. Join the cast and the crew for food and fun after the performance.

Families are also invited to attend “The Fairy Brunch” to be held at 12 PM on Saturday, September 14 at Strongbow Inn prior to Chicago Street Theatre’s final performance of The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother at 2:30 PM. Reservations are required for this family event that will feature a delicious brunch from Strongbow, fairy and imp training for the little ones courtesy of “Miss Edna Primm’s School for Fairies”, a fairy costume parade, photo opportunities with the cast, and a few additional surprises.
