The residents of Life Care Center of Valparaiso were treated to a Christmas celebration featuring cookies, presents, and even a visit from Santa Claus and his two elves.
The staff wanted to make sure residents could have some fun and socialize with their friends and loved ones, all while sporting their best Christmas attire. The event was able to bring the Christmas spirit to Life Care Center of Valparaiso and left the residents with big smiles on their faces.
“Today is a day that makes the residents feel very special,” said Amber Janeczko, Executive Director.“ It helps bring back a lot of good memories for them, it puts a smile on their faces, and that is the most rewarding.”
Life Care Center of Valparaiso throws parties for the residents every holiday, helping them create new traditions and memories.
“I look forward to these every month,” said resident Marie Zappe. “Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, I am glad I get the chance to spend it with all of the people here.”
Life Care Center of Valparaiso cares deeply about residents. The holidays are a special time for everyone and it is a great time of giving back and helping others.
“I think it is truly a privilege to have these jobs,” said Julie Ellis, Director of Medical Records. “The staff have done a great job today and do so every day. We want to help give them the true feeling of home.”
The staff often have just as much fun as the residents. Several were dressed up with ugly, but festive, sweaters. They even got up and sang and danced around with the residents soon joining in.
“I love the residents, you can just see such joy in their faces,” said Nancy Wayne, Activities Assistant. “This is a wonderful day to share with all of them. I am happy we can do this sort of thing for them.”
