The Valparaiso Police Department is searching for residents who would like to learn more about the police department. 
The ValpoPD is currently accepting applications for the Citizens Police Academy (CPA). The CPA is designed for residents to meet officers, learn what they do on a daily basis and become involved in their community. Topics include investigations, Indiana law, daily traffic laws and enforcement, crash investigations, K-9 programs, taser usage and more!
The class will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting April 7. Applications are available at the Valparaiso Police Department, 355 S. Washington St., or online. Completed applications must be returned by Friday, March 27.
