Good evening, this is a message from the City of Crown Point with our weekly update. 

Garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day next week due to the Fourth of July holiday.  

Please remember the City of Crown Point fireworks ordinance is in effect. Fireworks are permitted between 5 p.m. and two hours after sunset on June 29 and 30, July 1 through July 3, and July 5 through July 9, as well as between 10 a.m. and midnight on the Fourth of July. Please be respectful of your neighbors and stay safe.   

Start off Fourth of July with a bang during a free fireworks show hosted by Willy’s Works! Willy Wednesday will be held at 6 p.m. this Wednesday, June 29, at the Lake County Fairgrounds, located at 889 S. Court St. The display begins at dusk and will highlight individual fireworks, ending with a grand finale. 

Hit the links with the City of Crown Point and Net Par during the Tee Time on your Time Summer Golf League. The indoor golf league begins July 1 and goes through Sept. 30. All divisions play at Net Par. Sign up online by this Wednesday, June 29, by visiting apm.activecommunities.com/crownpoint

Join Mayor Peter Land and city staff for the annual City-Wide Picnic from 2-5 p.m. this Sunday, July 3, at the Franciscan Health Pavilion at Bulldog Park. We will have pulled pork, hot dogs, chips, pasta salad, dessert, soda and water! Bring your bathing suits! The splash pad will be open.   

The City of Crown Point wants to remind all families about the Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. Monday, July 4. The parade starts at the intersection of Main Street and 125th Avenue and ends at the corner of Goldsborough and Main streets. The fireworks show will begin at dusk at the Lake County Fairgrounds.   

Tuesday Talks with Mayor Peter Land will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Café Fresco, located at 1 N. Court St. Come hear about all the exciting things happening in the city!
