The public is invited to a Veterans Day observance at the Service Memorial located at Foundation Meadows Park. It is hosted by the City of Valparaiso, the Valpo Parks Department, and the Valpo Parks Foundation, held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
The Service Memorial at Foundation Meadows, 3210 N Campbell, will serve as the backdrop for remembrances from Army Veteran and Pastor of New Song Church Kurt Nichols. Also speaking will be Mayor Jon Costas.
In addition, there will be a reciting of all names inscribed on the Duty & Sacrifice monument which is devoted to military service people from the Valpo area who gave their lives in the service of their country. A wreath will be placed at the base of the monument to honor them and those who currently serve in the Armed Forces.
