Class of 846 to be Honored at Purdue Calumet Fall Graduation Saturday, December 12, 2015

Purdue-Cal-Commencement-2014 1In its 70th year, Purdue University Calumet will honor a fall graduating class of 846 students during its 70th Commencement Exercises Saturday (12/12). Two ceremonies are scheduled, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., in the university’s Fitness & Recreation Center.

488 participants in 2 programs
Some 488 baccalaureate and master’s degree graduation candidates are expected to participate in the two ceremonies—265 during the morning from the university’s Colleges of Business; Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; and Education, and 223 in the afternoon representing the Colleges of Technology; Nursing; and Engineering, Mathematics & Science.

Dr. Peggy Buffington, superintendent of the Hobart School Corporation and a Purdue Calumet alumna, will deliver the Commencement address at both ceremonies.

Nearly 700 baccalaureate, 150 master’s degrees
Overall, fall graduates are on track to earn nearly 700 baccalaureate degrees and 150 master’s degrees.

Purdue Calumet Chancellor Thomas L. Keon will present a Chancellor’s Medallion to the graduating senior with the top grade point average in each of the university’s six academic colleges. Other distinguished baccalaureate degree candidates also will be recognized.

Reception to follow
A reception will follow each graduation program in Alumni Hall of the Student Union & Library.

This class increases to nearly 53,000 the number of degrees awarded at Purdue Calumet.
