For decades, Schauer’s Premier Theatre was a hometown favorite, a local venue for movie goers. Its demolition in 1982 left a void, one not filled by the massive cineplexes that have since sprung up.
That void is about to be filled!

The Valparaiso Memorial Opera House will soon be showing first-run independent films on a weekly basis. This is exciting news for film lovers who often drive miles outside of the area to see top quality films that never make it to the multi-screen mega-theaters. Soon these films will be easily accessible and in an intimate atmosphere.
The Valparaiso Film Society (VFS) has been formed to support and promote this venture. Membership to the VFS will enable members to receive discounts on ticket prices and all film-related events as well as receiving advanced notice about film happenings. The VFS is currently seeking suggestions from members of the community about film offerings, times, etc.
