Community Healthcare System recently welcomed a new physician to its medical staff. Raza Akbar, MD, has been named the new medical director of Occupational Health Services for Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.
Dr. Akbar brings more than eight years of experience in occupational health to the healthcare system’s program, most recently serving as assistant medical director of the Occupational Health Program of Ingalls Care Center. He is board certified in occupational medicine and completed his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Akbar earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
