CompressAir supports local give back efforts

CompressAir is harnessing this holiday season as a platform for giving and supporting additional local give back efforts.

Christmas time is one of the best times of the year; it brings families and friends together, and provides much needed time to reflect and give thanks for the many wonderful things that we have in our lives. Despite this, it should never be forgotten that among the many people celebrating with their families, friends, and loved ones, for some Christmas may not be as merry.

This holiday season offers the perfect opportunity for companies to give back to the customers and communities they serve by supporting causes that are important to both the company’s founders and employees. Especially during this time of year, companies get the opportunity to showcase their giving spirit. Some focus on basic necessities – like food and clothing – while others pledge to fight climate change or work to honor veterans. No matter what the cause, campaigns that emphasize generosity and charity are ubiquitous.

In the spirit of giving, CompressAir supported the Deserving Children Shopping Tour by serving as a sponsor.

Deserving Children Charity is La Porte County’s local charity where money is raised to take the children of La Porte shopping.

In previous years, the children went shopping with approved chaperones and were also treated to a visit with Santa, free happy meals, and a gift bag full of holiday goodies. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions and precautions, volunteer shoppers did the shopping without the kids, then drop off the presents at their homes or at their schools.

An annual supporter, CompressAir has been a sponsor of this event since 2018. Again this year, they donated the 600 bags in which the volunteers will be delivering the children’s gifts in.

Director of Marketing Communications at CompressAir Brittany Smith is happy that the company is committed to supporting the local community.

“CompressAir tries to be very generous when it comes to donating, sponsoring, and supporting youth activities,” Smith said. “We are always eager to help nurture, support, and grow future leaders.”

When reflecting on the holiday give back efforts, Smith beams with pride at the community banding together to support such a worthy cause, as well as CompressAir’s participation.

“We are happy to be a small part towards these children having a great Christmas that they might not have been able to have without all the support from the community to put this event on,” Smith said. “It is a great feeling for all who participate. Simply knowing that they are providing kids with something to be excited about for the holidays is a wonderful feeling.”

CompressAir is committed to giving back to those in need year-round, including donating towards the local 4-H fair auction, breast cancer awareness month, many local sporting events, and New Prairie Robotics.

“We are very involved in events that support our local community,” Smith said. “For example, we support events put on by the La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership, Greater Elkhart Chamber, and Kankakee County, IL Chamber of Commerce, and more.”

The holidays are all about family, friends, community, and togetherness. There is no better way to celebrate than by brightening the spirits of one another through give back efforts.
