Born and raised in Valparaiso and a graduate of Chesterton High School, Connie Estelle is a Buyer’s Specialist on the Lynda Anderson Team at Boulder Bay Realty.
Estelle, who attended Indiana University, has been in sales and retail for her entire career managing stores such as Coach, Structure and Aeropostale from Northbrook, Illinois to Michigan City and Merrillville, Indiana.
“I started in real estate and got my license in 2006,” Estelle said. “I started out as an independent with another company before coming to Boulder Bay.”
“I really wanted to be my own boss and an entrepreneur running my own company,” Estelle said of what prompted her switch from retail to real estate. “Knowing what I can do and the way I like to work with people, I knew I could be very successful.”
“In retail, your customers are in and out, and you’re working with your regional managers and your district managers. You're doing everything their way. This way I was able to do my own thing and I love sales so it was basically just a whole new product.”
Buying a home is one of the most important decisions some people and families will make and, for Estelle, helping people through that process has been an incredibly gratifying experience.
“In the end, I’ve found that it’s a rewarding job because of the fact that I am helping people find their home and their security,” Estelle said. “It’s huge! It’s the place where they’ll raise their families so it’s become so rewarding, especially when they find just the right place.”
Before Estelle joined the Lynda Anderson Team at Boulder Bay Realty she spent some time as an independent realtor. When she joined Boulder Bay Estelle remained an independent realtor until she saw what was happening on Lynda’s team and she knew she wanted to be a part of it.
“What drew me to Lynda Anderson and Boulder Bay was the integrity that she has and the loyalty that she has for the people working in the office and on her team,” Estelle said. “I like that we’re continually growing and learning new things. Education is fabulous here and we are a very, very strong team.”
There’s competition wherever you go in life and in whatever field you choose to make your career, but at Boulder Bay Realty, as Estelle puts it, “we all want to grow and see each other succeed and we really do celebrate that growth.”
“What Lynda does is she will come to us with ideas and she’ll come to us with changes and when she proposes them to us she really does let us have our say and voice our opinions. In the end we come together as a group on how things will be put together and play out. It really breeds that atmosphere of energy.”
“It’s a lot like a family, and you probably hear that a lot,” Estelle said. “We all really try and understand each other and any miscommunication that might be going on. We can all talk about those things and that’s what makes us a really strong family.”
When Estelle spoke about what drives her the most is the relationships that she builds with her clients. Being on Lynda’s Team has freed Estelle up from some of the things independent realtors need to do and it has allowed her to build up closer relationships with her buyers.
“I’m that people person,” said Estelle. “Being on the Team allows me to work more with my buyers and I really love that.”
