The Downtown Valparaiso Family YMCA Child Care is open now for Fall registration. Child Care classes start Tuesday, September 2nd from 9am to 11:30am Monday thru Friday along with other options of Tuesday & Thursday 9am to 11:30am or Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am to 11:30am or all day care from 6am to 6pm is also available. This Child Care is special because children will build their self-confidence, independence, social and emotional skills as well as learn numbers, colors, and words, with the bonus of having the same teacher every day. The classes promote letter sounds and recognition along with fun and active play.
There is creative curriculum teaching strategies gold and a car line pick up and drop off line. The Child Care is an Indiana State Registered Ministry facility, HEPA approved and children bring a bag lunch – if they stay for lunch. Zumba exercise , fun movement, is taught along with a once a week field trip around downtown to the Library, on Letter Hunts, or to the Splash Pad or Fitness in the Park are popular once a week trips.
The Pre-Kindergarten class prepares your child for a school setting to be with one teacher and be one of 25 – 30 students in a Kindergarten classroom. The Y promotes children to work, learn, and think independently so they are ready to enter that new environment with ease.
