Crown Point High School juniors Jessica Carrothers and Lilly Stoddard, who led the Bulldogs to a girls basketball state championship this year, added another piece of hardware for their trophy case, earning the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA)/Franciscan Health “Supreme 15” All-State honors for 2020-21.

The pair received their awards on May 10 at Franciscan Health Sports Medicine in Crown Point, joined by their coach Chris Seibert and Crown Point High School Athletic Director Bill Dorulla. They were among 15 underclass girls honored statewide. The “Supreme 15” is the top honor awarded, and players were voted to the group by a panel of 20 IBCA coaches without regard to school size.

“We’re very fortunate and proud to have this opportunity to present the awards,” said Franciscan Health Crown Point Director Sports Medicine & Sports Performance Frank Eksten, noting that both girls train at the facility. The awards were presented by Franciscan Health Crown Point Vice President of Administrative Services Jason Middleton.

“It’s a really big deal to me and I couldn’t have done it without the trainers here at SMI (Franciscan Health Sports Medicine Institute) and my family members who have helped me along the way,” Stoddard said.

“Thank you to especially SMI, it really changed my game, and my coaches and all my supporters,” Carrothers said.

Franciscan Health Sports Medicine is making a financial contribution to the IBCA Scholarship fund as the presenting partner of the IBCA all-state teams. As part of the partnership, Franciscan Health Sports Medicine provides the plaques to the recipients. For more information, go online at ibcacoaches.com/2017-ibcasubway-girls-all-state-seniors.
