On Saturday June 15th and 16th, Culver’s in Valparaiso and Schererville celebrated National Dairy Month with a special fundraiser. Culver's donated 5% of their sales from the day to the local 4H club and also used the day to honor local dairy farmers.
From 11 am to 4 pm customers and donors had the unique opportunity to pet two cows.
Brooke Wilson, an avid 4H member for the past four years, had two cows to show. For the Wilson family, 4H and animals is a family affair. One was baby Rosie, and the other was one-year-old Brown Suisse Olivia. Wilson will be showing Olivia for the first time this year.
Wilson said, “Showing cows gives me a chance to work with animals that you wouldn’t think you could work with everyday.”
In addition to the cows, Culver’s was offering free samples of their signature creamy custard and cheese curds. Kids could color one of many photos of a cow and take home a balloon or another dairy themed gift. Many families came to show their support for the fundraiser. Stop in to Culver’s soon for a scoop of custard to celebrate National Dairy Month!
