On December 14th Culver’s of Valparaiso donated $2,417 to Porter County Veterans. The funds were raised by Culvers from their own profits and community outreach. The donation was a part of Culver’s nationwide campaign called: “Culver’s Cares.”
The check was made out to Porter County veterans, but the funds will be split through two veteran aid groups of Porter County.
Vietnam Veterans of America will be using their portion of the funds to donate gifts to Toys for Tots and to purchase food for the local Food Pantry. The rest of the received fund will go to raise money for veteran Honor Flights and a scholarship for the the ROTC in Portage.
Veteran Affairs of Porter County will be using their funds to aid veterans that are enduring emergencies, whether they be medical or financial. The Veteran Affairs of Porter County helps pay for veterans medical supplies, travel to distant hospitals for care, and more. A portion of the received funds will also be donated to New Creations Homeless Shelter.
Each month Culver’s will continue to donate to local causes and organizations throughout Porter County. Previous months included the Pink Ribbon Society and Morgan & Kouts FFA.
