Dr. Sally Ride Question Contest! What Have You Always Wanted to Ask an Astronaut?

Reaching-for-the-StarsDr. Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel in space and president and CEO of Sally Ride Science, is coming to the Star Plaza Theatre on April 12th to speak to YOU! During this special event, you have an opportunity to be one of ten kids chosen to ask her a question. So, if you have always wanted to ask an astronaut about space or being an astronaut - this is a once and a lifetime chance!

Here's what you need to do:

  • Think of a GREAT question to ask Dr. Sally Ride.
  • Send an e-mail with the following information AND your question to questions@clcnwi.com :
    • Your name
    • Your gender
    • Name of your school & city or town in which your school is located
    • What grade level you attend in school
    • Phone number

Contest rules:

  • You must be a student in 2nd - 8th grade.
  • You may only submit one question.
  • You must be able to attend the Reaching for the Stars event featuring Dr. Sally Ride on Tuesday, April 12th,at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, IN.
  • The contest ends on Wednesday, March 23rd, at 5:00 p.m. CST. If your e-mail is received after the deadline, it will not be considered. Winners will be announced on April 1st.

  • 2 free tickets for you and a guardian to attend the Reaching for the Stars event featuring Dr. Sally Ride.
  • Special seating for contest winners.
  • You will have a microphone during the question portion of the event to ask your question directly to Dr. Sally Ride.
