Businesses which fail to register will be called and tactfully reminded. The fine for not registering is $100. All new businesses or those which did not submit a form last year, must complete the whole of the form this year. DNR Open House April 6 & Celebration April 7!

The open house will be April 6th from 5-6:30 pm at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, 1215 N. State Road 49. DNR staff will be available to provide an overview of the pavilion's history and answer questions related to the process used for selecting Pavilion Partners, LLC, to design the project and operate it through a public/private partnership. This will include designs for a new concession area, a pavilion rooftop restaurant, new restrooms with showers and family dressing rooms for beachgoers, and a conference/banquet center. Additionally, April 7th at 1:00 pm we will have a celebration in the State Park at the Nature Center for being recognized as one of the nation's "Top 10 State Parks". Hope to see you there!

This free event offers families an opportunity to tour our national lakeshore campus, meet staff and ask questions about the upcoming summer camp season. Overnight and day camp sessions are available for ages 6 to 17. Activities include night hikes, beach outings, cookouts, camp crafts, fishing, kayaking and photography. Activities vary by session. Camps are supervised by first-aid and CPR certified staff. Campers stay in modern, climate-controlled cabins with indoor bathroom facilities. The inaugural Indiana Dunes Birding Festival, Thursday, May 7, through Sunday, May 10 will not only highlight some of the Midwest's premier birding locations buts also offer a wide range of nature-related workshops, programs and hikes. The four-day festival is sure to appeal to general nature enthusiasts, beginning birdwatchers, advanced birders, and plant and animal lovers. Registration has begun and runs through April.
