On Saturday, March 8 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, the community is invited to visit the Y for our March membership promotion kick-off, "PAY THE DAY". Discover the pot of gold that awaits you at the end of the Y's rainbow! During this promotion, new membership joiner's fees will be reduced from $50 to an amount equal to the date. If you join on Saturday, your joiner's fee will be only $8.00 (pay the day)! If you join on March 9, your joiner's fee will be $9.00. The Chesterton Art Center will be hosting children's artwork from the Chesterton Montessori School starting Saturday, March 15 with an Opening Reception from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street-Next on Stage
Sweeney Todd is coming to Chesterton. Performances start on Saturday, March 15 and continue through March 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 and April 3-6. Sunday performances are at 3:00 pm, all others start at 8:00 pm. Sweeney Todd is set in 19th century England. The musical tells the story of Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who returns to London after 15 years' exile on trumped-up charges. When he finds out the circumstances surrounding his wife's death, he vows revenge on the judge, and later, the whole world. He teams up with a pie maker, Mrs. Lovett, and opens a barbershop in which he kills the customers and has them disposed of in a very tasteful manner.
