Duplicates Lead Crusaders on Final Day of Raleigh Relays

In the men’s hammer throw, the “Jacob” duo of senior Jacob Frey (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) and junior Jacob Smutz (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) each finished in the top 15. Frey threw 55.90m/183-5 to finish in 11th, while Smutz threw 55.26/181-3 to take 15th.

The “Sarah” duo of junior Sarah Peters (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) and senior Sarah Drozdowski (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) both finished in the top 14 in their respective events. Peters took 13th in the women’s pole vault with a height of 3.35m/10-11.75, while Drozdowski threw a season best 47.64m/156-3 in the hammer throw to finish in 14th.

In the men’s javelin, senior Jeremy Getz (Colorado Springs, Colo./Harrison) finished 23rd with a heave of 47.73m/156-7.

Sophomore Justin Zosso (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) finished in 26th in the men’s pole vault with a mark of 4.40m/14-5.25.

The Crusaders return to the track next Saturday when they travel to the DePauw Outdoor Invitational.
