Early Registration Deadline Nears for Great Futures Family Bike Ride

DSC04421Are you looking for a fun, outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy? Then register today for the 2nd Annual “Great Futures Family Bike Ride”, hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. The “Great Futures Family Bike Ride” is a non-competitive ride that will take place on the family-friendly Prairie-Duneland Trail on May 11, 2013. The Ride is open to the entire community. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 8:30 a.m. at Countryside Park in Portage, IN (5250 U. S. 6) and the Duneland Trailhead in Chesterton (108 S. 15th Street).

The cost is $7.00 per rider ages 6 and up. Children ages 5 and under are free. Free t-shirts are available for the first 300 riders 6 and up who register by April 26, 2013. Registration will continue on-line until May 10, 2013 but t-shirts are not included. Join the fun and register on-line at www.bgcpoco.org. Helmets and close-toed shoes are recommended.

BGC-logo-newFree refreshment stations, maps, and rest areas will be available along the trail. Free bike safety checks and helmet fittings are provided in the Community Areas at both the Portage and Chesterton check-in locations. Kids will enjoy the special appearances by Rusty the Railcat and Scrappy the Turtle.
