Early Registration for “Great Futures Family Bike Ride” Ends April 20

BGC-Great-Futures-2012Are you looking for a fun, outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy? Then register today for the “Great Futures Family Bike Ride”, a new special event hosted the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. The “Great Futures Family Bike Ride” is a non-competitive ride that will take place on the family-friendly Prairie-Duneland Trail on May 5, 2012. The Ride is open to the entire community. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Chesterton trail head located between 15th Street and Jackson Boulevard.

The cost is $5.00 per individual rider or $15.00 per family. T-shirts are available for an additional $10.00 each. Join the fun and register on-line at www.bgcpoco.org. Early registration ends on April 20, 2012 for people wanting to purchase T-shirts; however open registration will continue on-line until May 3, 2012. Helmets and close-toed shoes are required.

Free refreshment stations, maps, and rest areas will be available along the trail. Free bike safety checks and helmet fittings are provided in the Community Area located at the Chesterton trail head. Kids will enjoy the special appearances by Rascal the Railcat and horses from the Porter County Sheriff Department’s Mounted Posse.
