In an effort to keep city employees safe in the extreme heat, Valparaiso Public Works is requesting city residents with trash and recycling collection on Thursday, June 28, 2012, to place items out by 6:00 a.m. this week. With forecasts calling for record high temperatures and heat index on June 28, Valparaiso Public Works crews will report to work one hour earlier in hopes of beating the heat.
Crews will go out at 6:00 a.m.—an hour earlier than usual—to begin trash and recycling collection on Thursday’s routes.
Public Works appreciates resident cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience.
