Earning a Path to a Better Life

Incentive-Treasure-ChestSetting and achieving goals is a core experience we include in all of our programs and services at the Family & Youth Services Bureau. As CEO Lisa Jordan states, “One of the first things we do when meeting with a new client is create attainable goals, so each person or family has an opportunity to accomplish something positive.

We incorporate something to strive for, something that will become a good habit. And if we can, we often add an incentive.”

Now the Family & Youth Services Bureau has developed a way that community members and local businesses can share with our clients that pride of accomplishment: The Incentive Treasure Chest.

We’re gathering gift cards, gift certificates, and small items from our supporters to use as incentives for our clients. A youth or an entire family can earn the incentives by reaching their individual goals.

Certificates, cards, or items donated do not have to be large; items in the $5 to $30 range are often the best to use for this type of program.

If you would like to be involved in the Incentive Treasure Chest Program, please contact Jackie Gray at 464-9585 or jgray@fysb.org. Gifts can also be made online at www.fysb.org.

Established in 1972, the Family & Youth Services Bureau provides 17 different programs for the youth and families of Porter County, all designed to help them create a new path in their lives. The agency provides these services at three sites in Valparaiso and one in Portage.
