Employee Life in the Spotlight: Mark Rosinski

Employee Life in the Spotlight: Mark Rosinski

Before joining the Kotys Wealth Professional’s team earlier this year, Mark Rosinski spent five years working in various corporate finance and accounting roles, four of those years with NiSource in Merrillville.  After earning his Certified Public Accountant license, he decided to lean into his passion of personal finance and to work in a more direct client-service role.  “During nights and weekends after my day job, I worked at H&R Block preparing tax returns,” Rosinski said. “After the experience at H&R Block and speaking with over a dozen financial advisors located across the country, I decided to go all-in on that passion by pursuing a role as a financial advisor.”

After passing his financial regulation examinations and learning more about the various ways one can service clients in the financial planning and investment management space, he knew Kotys Wealth Professionals was the clear choice for him to pursue a career as a financial advisor in Northwest Indiana.  Rosinski said, “After learning about the different ways clients can be serviced in our industry, I knew I never wanted to feel pressured or incentivized to sell a client a specific financial product rather than giving the client the best advice possible for their goals.  Functioning as a fee-only, fiduciary 100% of the time and the holistic nature in which Kotys Wealth Professionals approaches the financial planning process were the key differentiators for me.”

Rosinski continued to say, “Having the opportunity to be a Financial Advisor at Kotys Wealth Professionals to grow the firm and help more people in our community is what I’m looking forward to the most.”

“Our clients come here because they know we have the skills and processes to help them succeed with their financial goals and dreams, but they stay because of the continued support and family experience we cultivate through every interaction,” Rosinski said.

Along with helping clients achieve their version of financial success, Rosinski loves learning more about the industry and better ways to help his clients. This inspiration to dive into personal finance stems from many sources, from creating and updating budgeting sheets for his own retirement funds, enjoying spending hours reading up on tax law, or simply answering a friend’s financial question.

“I find a lot of happiness in helping friends and family with financial advice,” Rosinski said. “I’m excited to be in an industry where I’m challenged to reliably provide the most up-to-date information to help clients.”

When he’s not helping people reach their financial goals, Rosinski loves tearing it up on the volleyball court.  “I’ve been an avid volleyball player since high school, and have played in indoor leagues throughout Chesterton, Valparaiso, and Crown Point for the last 12 years,” he said. “I love the quick pace of the sport and the comradery of the leagues.”

For Rosinski, life is always better surrounded by those you love, and he’d take any opportunity to spend time with his wife and the people who mean the most to him.

“If I had to choose between sipping on a $100 bottle of red wine by myself overlooking the Grand Canyon versus siting in a dirty garage with a PBR laughing with friends and family, I’d choose the second option every time.”

Listening to his intuition, Rosinski took chances that led him to working in the field he has always had an affinity for.  And now he is living those dreams of being a Financial Advisor for a firm that upholds a fiduciary oath to do what is in the best interest of their clients 100% of the time.
