Everything You Could Possibly Know About ESPN GameDay at Mackey Arena this Saturday

What times will ESPN be on the air from Mackey Arena?
The College GameDay team will do live hits on the 9 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenter. The newly-expanded GameDay will begin at 10 a.m. ET on ESPNU and move to ESPN for the 11 a.m. ET hour. Beginning at 8 p.m. ET, the crew will host the one-hour Saturday Primetime leading into the Boilermakers’ clash with Michigan State at 9 p.m. ET.

What time will the Mackey Arena doors open for College GameDay?
Mackey Arena will open its doors to the Paint Crew at 7:45 a.m. ET and to the general public at 8 a.m. ET for the taping of the morning GameDay shows. Mackey will open at its normal time for the evening show and game. A game ticket will be required for admittance for the evening show and game.

Do you need a ticket to be allowed into College GameDay?
College GameDay Driven by State Farm is a free event in the morning, thus no ticket is needed. A game ticket will be required for entrance into the taping of Saturday Primetime at 8 p.m. ET.

What entrance will be open?
All entrances to Mackey Arena will be open. Students may enter through the normal student gate.

Is seating reserved?
Seating is not reserved. However, fans must wear black in order to gain entrance to the lower bowl of Mackey Arena.

Where should I try to sit if I want to be on TV?
Arena staff will fill sections 9-13 in the lower bowl first, as they are located directly behind the College GameDay set. Crowd noise and energy are encouraged and vital to a successful College GameDay show.

What will the parking situation be during College GameDay?
Parking around Mackey Arena will be free on Saturday, Jan. 22, until 6 p.m. ET (with the exception of Lot G, located between Mackey Arena and Lambert Fieldhouse), when crews will begin to tow the lots in accordance with Purdue’s normal parking policy. After 6 p.m., normal permit restrictions will apply.

Where will the College GameDay set be located?
The GameDay set will be situated on the west side of center court, facing the east side of Mackey Arena.

Which ESPN personalities will be in attendance?
The College GameDay crew of Rece Davis, Jay Bilas, Hubert Davis, Bob Knight and Digger Phelps is expected to be at Mackey Arena.

Will signs be allowed in Mackey Arena for College GameDay?
Signs will be permitted, but will be checked by State Farm personnel upon entry, and must receive an “approved” sticker. Per normal Purdue policy, signs will be allowed during the game, but can only be held up during timeouts.

Will Coach Painter or the Boilermaker players be in attendance?
Coach Painter and the Purdue players are expected to make an appearance during the 9 a.m. ET hour, but plans are not yet finalized.

Will concessions be open?
Concession stands and Purdue Pride merchandise stands in Mackey Arena will open at approximately 8 a.m. ET for College GameDay.

When will fans be cleared from Mackey Arena?
Though the game won’t tip off until 9 p.m., both teams will need to use Keady Court for their normal gameday shootarounds. There may be brief opportunities for photos following the conclusion of College GameDay, but the set, crew and fans will be clear of Keady Court by 1 p.m. ET.

Are tickets available for the Purdue-Michigan State game?
While Purdue Athletics has reached a complete season sell-out of Mackey Arena, there may be an extremely limited number of tickets available in the Purdue Athletic Ticket Office beginning on Monday, Jan. 17. Stop by the office, located in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility (IAF), or call (800) 49-SPORT to inquire about availability.
