Times can be tough and buying nearly new dresses and accessories is a great way to get a nearly new dress for your prom or semi-formal dance.
The HOPE Club and Life Skills Special Education Program of Valparaiso High School is sponsoring "Express Dress and Accessories" on March 5, 2011, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the VHS cafeteria. Students families who have dresses to sell or who are in need of dresses and accessories for a prom or semi-formal dance are encouraged to attend. Snacks and refreshments will be provided and raffles for gift cards from local businesses will be given away.
The event is free and dresses will be available to try on. Settle on a price with the seller and take home a great look for less!
All profits from the booth rental and a percentage of sales will go directly to the students in the special education program at Valparaiso High School and the Valparaiso HOPE Club.
Sellers: dresses, purses, shoes, gloves, jewelry, tiaras, slips, and all party/dance wear that has the potential to be used again are allowed for sale. Booth rental is $20, due by March 1 at Valparaiso High School. Tables can be requested for the booth; the rest of the display is up to you! A host/hostess will be available to your booth to escort potential buyers to the restrooms for trying on dresses. Cash or checks will be accepted; there will be no opportunity for credit card sales.
Businesses: We ask Porter County businesses to participate by donating a gift card or coupons that the students can use during prom and semi-formal dance times throughout the year. You may rent a booth for $20 to hand out and display your information to dance attendees; if you choose to donate a gift card (minimum of $20), the booth fee will be waived. For tuxedo and flower shops, sponsor several high school students who will wear tuxedos and/or boutonnieres while passing out your business cards or coupons along with hors d' oeuvres. If you support us in this way, a booth will be provided to you free of cost for you.
