Express Employment Professionals Hosts Ninth Annual Leadercast Live Conference at Valparaiso University

At a time when jobs are still scarce, the economy is inching through our current post-recession recovery phase, and many people are still uncertain about their future, the team from Express Employment Professionals are working hard to provide opportunities, personal focus and a strength of purpose to Northwest Indiana residents by once again bringing Leadercast Live to the area.

With over 100,000 attendees at more than 700 locations in more than 20 countries, Leadercast Live is the premier event of Leadercast.com, offering inspiration and encouragement to professionals across the world. It is the world’s largest one-day leadership event, featuring a series of entertaining and motivational speeches from some of the best and brightest minds of the business world, including bestselling author Andy Stanley, former sports agent, author and renowned speaker Molly Fletcher, director/playwright/author/actor/entrepreneur Tyler Perry, and many others. Broadcasting live from Leadercast headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, this year’s event was hosted by comedian and director, Tripp Crosby.

Leadership Valpo, held each year at Harre Union Hall at Valparaiso University, the conference was open to local residents, business owners, professionals and anyone else interested in personal and professional growth.

“We have two tables here. We’ve been coming here to Leadercast since the very beginning,” said Mark Chamberlain, CEO of Lakeside Wealth Management. “We look forward to Andy Stanley every year. My folks here are all taking notes, and we’ll take what we learn here today... we’ll take it back to the office, go over it and use it to inspire others.”

Chamberlain feels strongly about the event and hopes that it will continue to grow. “I’d like to spread the word. This is an incredible, team-building opportunity here. It’s informative... it’s inspiring. It’s like a Ted Talk.”

Jerry Phelps, franchise owner of Express Employment Professionals, located in Valparaiso and Schererville is very happy to once again bring Leadercast to northwest Indiana.

“We got started with this event nine years ago, back when it was called Maximum Impact Simulcast. It eventually evolved into the Leadercast series. Originally targeted towards business professionals, it’s since been opened up to anyone looking to improve their lives, improve their goals and motivate themselves to succeed. It’s a great day to see some speakers you might not otherwise have a chance to see. Our goal is to educate people. We like to give them the tools they need to become better people,” said Phelps.

Susan Kloss, director of training and development at Porter Regional Hospital appreciates the motivational speeches.

“I’ve been going here for the last seven years now,” said Kloss. “I do a lot of training at my job, and to be able to come here, to hear and entertain new ideas has a tremendous impact on me.

Kloss says she particularly enjoys hearing Suzy Welch.

“She has a really good perspective. This is a wonderful chance to hear these industry leaders speak without having to pay the cost to travel out of state.” Leadercast Live is held each year in May, and the cost to attend was $59, but several batches of tickets were donated to students from Valparaiso and Chesterton - future leaders, to be sure.
