Our upcoming workshop entitled “Spice- The New Marijuana” is being held on July 14, 2010 from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Portage office located at 6459 Central Avenue, Portage, IN. This workshop will offer information about the influx of legal mind altering substances that are growing in popularity amongst youth in Northwest Indiana. There will be an opening presentation by Michelle Volk, B.A. who is the Director of Operations with Great Lake Labs. Immediately following this presentation there will be a panel discussion with the chief of police for the Portage police department, Chief Mark Becker, as well as Tom Moeller, M.A. who is therapist with the Family and Youth Services Bureau who specializes in substance abuse treatment. Michelle Volk, B.A. as well as a parent from the community will also be on the panel. There will be a question and answer period at the end, so attendants are encouraged to come with questions.

This program is made possible through a grant from the Indiana Department of Child Services. To register for this free workshop, please call us either 219-464-9585 or 219-763-6623.
