Family Life Series Workshop “Parenting for the Modern Age”

family-youth-services-bureau-logoThe Family & Youth Services Bureau strives to strengthen families in Porter County. Through a wonderful grant opportunity, we are having a Family Life Series Workshop which addresses various topics related to families. All workshops are FREE and open to anyone!

Our upcoming workshop entitled “Parenting for the Modern Age” is being held on March 8th, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at our Valparaiso office located at 253 West Lincolnway. This workshop will offer information about parenting children from age one to age five. Participants will learn about the goals of misbehavior, children’s beliefs and feelings, and discipline techniques that make sense. This workshop will offer tips on listening and talking to your children, as well as encouraging your children and yourself. The presenter will be Shadia Ibrahim, MA. Ms. Ibrahim is a clinical services therapist at the Family and Youth Services Bureau. Ms. Ibrahim currently teaches the Nurturing Parenting classes at FYSB. She has a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a MA in Human Behavior and Society. Ms. Ibrahim has also taught grades K-12.
