FAWN Fashion Show Helps the Homeless

FAWN-Fashion-Show-2011-Check-1Friends Assisting Women in Need, Inc. presented a check for $35,500 to Housing Opportunities, Inc. from the proceeds of FAWN’s annual Fashion Show, Dinner and Silent Auction. FAWN, a non-profit organization, has contributed over $128,500 to Housing Opportunities over the past four years. These funds have allowed Housing Opportunities to be awarded over $1.3 million in federal and state grants benefitting the homeless.

Friends Assisting Women in Need, was incorporated in 2007 provide charitable services for women in need. According to Carol Loesche, President of FAWN, “It’s truly amazing that a small group of women can have this large of an impact on other women’s lives. We are truly grateful to the NWIN community for their support of our event.” Housing Opportunities is the largest provider of services to the homeless and those at-risk of homelessness in Porter & LaPorte counties. Their mission is to empower families and individuals by providing housing solutions via access to housing options that are safe, decent, and affordable, and customizing client support services that foster self-reliance.
