The numbers are in and the news is good for the housing market in Aberdeen. Sales and prices are up in the community, owner/broker of CENTURY 21 Alliance Group Jeanne Sommer reported.
According to numbers provided by the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors, there were 18 residential sales, 14 homes and 4 condos, in the first half of 2012. These numbers are up, compared to the first half of 2011, which saw 11 residential sales: 9 homes and two condos.
Additionally, the average residential sale price is up from $221,268 in the first half of 2011 to $302,311 in the first half of 2012. The average days on the market also have increased from 113 days in the first half of 2011 to 181 days in the first half of 2012.
“Those numbers are typical,” said Sommer. “When the average price goes up, so does the number of days on the market.”
