housing-opportunitiesOur pantry currently serves between 1400-1700 Porter County individuals a month. Here is the number of shoppers we have had the privilege of serving in the last few months:

Food Pantry Facts & Stats:

  • Children are the pantry’s most vulnerable client; 45% of individuals served through the pantry are children under 18.
  • 1 in 4 children go to sleep hungry at night.
  • Typical family of 4 spends between $771.10 - $1,113.80 per month on food.
  • 7.8% of Porter County families live below poverty level ($22,350 for family of 4).
  • Food stamps do not cover cost for basic needs of toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning items.

Monetary donations are always needed. Ask about becoming a “Pantry Partner.”

The pantry is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Shoppers need to bring proof of residency such as state issued I.D., current utility bill, lease, etc.
