Fiddlehead’s Crowel Named R.O.S.E. Winner for the Month of January

January-Troy-CrowelTroy Crowel was named Visit Michigan City LaPorte’s R.O.S.E. Award (Recognition of Service Excellence) winner for the month of January.

He has worked at Fiddlehead Restaurant in Michigan City since September 2015.

Troy said, “When a new person comes into the restaurant I like to find out what they like to do and then I tell them about all the cool things we have to offer. If they have kids with them I suggest the zoo. Also, I like to send people to Barker Mansion and Hesston Steam Museum. I always encourage people to linger in our downtown because of all the fun things to do”.

This is what the nominator said about the service that people receive from Mr. Crowel.

I took my family to this restaurant a few weeks ago on a Saturday to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. It was our first visit and he was the only server on the floor, you could tell he was busy at one point I counted 9 tables that he was juggling as well as handling the bar. His service was impeccable, he took his time to explain to us the restaurant's mission statement had an answer to every question and was even able to surprise my little girl with an amazing homage desert. I've been a server and know the feeling of being in the weeds let me tell you this guy is a rock star!!! We will return because of him.

Mr. Crowel was awarded a framed certificate, a rose corsage and a $100 bill. He will be invited to the annual R.O.S.E. Luncheon on May 5th at the Civic Auditorium and will be nominated for the State of Indiana’s Hoosier Hospitality Award.
