Flu: A Shot of Prevention

vaccination-1What step can you take now to help prevent the flu this winter? Get vaccinated!

The two available versions of the flu vaccine — one protects against three strains and the other against four — have been specifically developed to protect against what are expected to be this year’s most common flu strains.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone older than 6 months of age get a flu shot each year, but the vaccination is most important for those at the greatest risk of complications associated with the flu: children younger than 5, seniors age 65 and older, and pregnant women. If you work with any of these groups, you should get vaccinated, too. It’s not too late!
