Foundation-Offers-Endowment-Matching-Grant-Program-for-Nonprofits-in-2016The Porter County Community Foundation announced the start of its Endowment Matching Grant Program on October 1st. This unique program will help nonprofits in Porter County build their endowment funds, forever supporting the essential work these groups do to help people in our community.

The Foundation, as a part of its Tomorrow Starts Today Campaign, has set aside $1 million exclusively for the purpose of building these permanent endowments. Nonprofits can either add to an existing fund, or start a new fund. For every dollar raised by a participating nonprofit organization, from now through March 31st of 2018, the Foundation will match it with a dollar, up to $50,000.

“Now is the time to rally around your favorite charity. Donations, whether big or small, will have twice the impact” said Bill Higbie, President & CEO of the Porter County Community Foundation. “Everyone’s capacity for giving is different which is why this matching grant program is so effective; the value of every gift is doubled!”

The program was made available to nonprofits through an application process. Twenty Three organizations in Porter County have been accepted to participate in the Matching Grant Program.

For a list of participating organizations, visit the Foundation’s website at www.portercountyfoundation.org or call the charity and ask if they are taking part in the program.
