Franciscan Physician Network Cardiology Crown Point has welcomed four heart specialists to its staff. Physicians Kelly Rychter, DO, and Jelica Maze, MD, nurse practitioner Catherine Lara and a physician assistant Eileen Stulgis are accepting new patients.
Dr. Rychter is a board-certified cardiologist who obtained her training at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Ill., and did her residency at Evanston Northwestern Hospital in Evanston, Ill. She had fellowships at Midwestern University and Franciscan Health Olympia Fields. Dr. Rychter’s clinical interests include atrial fibrillation, hypertension, coronary artery disease and high cholesterol.
Dr. Maze is a board-certified cardiologist who also speaks Serbo-Croatian. She obtained her training at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and did her residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland. She had a fellowship at University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Fla. Dr. Maze’s clinical interests include preventative cardiology, echocardiography, heart failure management and heart disease in women.
Nurse practitioner Lara obtained her Master of Science in nursing at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill. Her clinical interests include general cardiology, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and coronary artery disease.
Physician assistant Stulgis obtained her training at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Ill. Her clinical interests include coronary disease, lipid studies, heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
