The fourth Annual City of Valparaiso Memorial Day Concert will be held Monday, May 31, 2:00pm, at the Memorial Opera House. 
The Memorial Opera House is located at 104 Indiana Avenue in Valparaiso. The one-hour Memorial Day Concert will feature patriotic selections by the Valparaiso Community/University Concert Band, audience sing along, and first-person historical narratives.
Dr. Jeff Doebler, director of bands at Valparaiso University, will be conducting this annual event.
The concert will include a special appearance by Porter County Sheriff Dave Lain who will be performing the National Anthem with the VU/Community Concert Band.
There is no admission charge for the concert. Audience members are asked to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Christian Food Pantry in Valparaiso.
The concert is sponsored by the Memorial Opera House and the Valparaiso Community/University Concert Band, with volunteer help by members of Boy Scout Troop 906.
The First Annual City of Valparaiso Memorial Day Concert four years ago, was planned and organized by William Doebler as his Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout project. William has organized the annual concerts, and he will also lead this year’s event.
