Franciscan Alliance Foundation Receives $15,000 Grant from ArcelorMittal

rot7The Franciscan Alliance Foundation recently was the recipient of a $15,000 grant from ArcelorMittal.

The funds will assist Franciscan Alliance in hosting events for its “Listen Up, Ladies!” series, which includes free health information and health screenings to the community. The grant will also assist Franciscan St. Margaret Health in providing health screenings and education programs to ArcelorMittal employees throughout the year.

Tony Englert, Franciscan Alliance Foundation executive director, noted his gratitude for the partnership, adding, “ArcelorMittal has been a longtime supporter of the community programs offered by Franciscan St. Margaret Health. This gift allows us to continue to bring healthy messages, as well as health care screenings, to the people of the Calumet Region. All of us at Franciscan Alliance are truly grateful for their continued support.”

ArcelorMittal said the partnership underscores its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of employees and community members.

“Above all else, the health and safety of our employees and contractors is our number-one priority,” said Dr. Ted Niemiec, medical director of health services ArcelorMittal Indiana Harbor, adding, “The support we provide to Franciscan Alliance extends this commitment to our community.”

Franciscan Alliance hospitals in Northern Indiana offer more than 4,500 free screenings annually area residents.
