The Crown Point Community Foundation recently presented a $3,000 donation to Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point to help underwrite the cost of “Safe Kids Day,” scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon April 25 at the Southlake YMCA, 1450 S. Court St., Crown Point. The funds will help cover a portion of the costs associated with the free, family-oriented program, which will feature presentations by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Crown Point Fire Department, staff from Franciscan Alliance and a special BMX demonstration from Wonder Wheels. Pre-registration is required; call (800) 931-3322.
Shown, from left, are Crown Point Community Foundation President Patricia Huber, Franciscan Alliance Foundation Executive Director Tony Englert, and Franciscan St. Anthony Health Trauma Registrar Crystal Vasquez. “This grant shows once again how a strong partnership between local nonprofits can make a difference for everyone in the community. We are most grateful to the Crown Point Community Foundation for its financial support and the Southlake YMCA for its willingness to host the event on their site,” Englert said.
