Little Green Apple Hallmark of Crown Point recently donated more than 300 Itty Bitty plush, stuffed animals to the Prenatal Assistance program at St. Clare Health Clinic in Crown Point. “For the last several weeks, we invited customers to purchase an Itty Bitty and then the store would donate an Itty Bitty for each one purchased. Many customers also donated the one they purchased when they learned it was to help local children,” said Linda O’Leary, right, store manager.
Christine Gesiakowski, center, prenatal program coordinator, added, “So many of the families have children who would otherwise not receive anything new to play with. The children will be delighted to receive these toys. We are very grateful.” Also shown accepting the gift is Laura Mannion, Franciscan Health Foundation director of development. The prenatal program, since 2002, has provided free services for expectant area women who have limited income. It is located at the clinic, 1121 S. Indiana Ave., Crown Point.
