Franciscan Health has updated the hours for drive-thru testing for novel COVID-19 coronavirus at its hospitals in Hammond, Dyer, and Munster.
The testing takes place at trailers located outside of hospital emergency departments. Individuals without an appointment must come to the testing site with a doctor’s order for a COVID-19 test.
Testing at Franciscan Health Hammond is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Testing at Franciscan Health Dyer is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
For Franciscan Health Munster only, the testing schedule is as follows Monday through Friday:
- * 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Scheduled appointments only
- * 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Closed for lunch
- * 1 to 3 p.m.: Scheduled appointments only
- * 3 to 6 p.m.: Unscheduled/walk-in testing

A free online assessment is also available for patients who are experiencing symptoms or think they may have been exposed to novel COVID-19 coronavirus. This non-diagnostic questionnaire, developed in collaboration with Franciscan clinical leaders, will determine an individual’s eligibility for a telephonic consultation with a nurse. A nurse will then guide patients with their next steps to the care they need. The online assessment can be accessed at www.franciscanhealth.org/covidaware.
