Fresh Mobile Market to Serve Porter County Boys and Girls Club Families in Need in 2015

NEWfoodbank logoThe Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter County are teaming up to distribute nutritious and fresh food items for Club families in need of food assistance. This is a pilot program with four distributions in Porter County.

The Fresh Mobile Market will offer Club families fresh produce on the following dates and locations:

July 16th – 4pm to 6pm; Valparaiso Club, 354 W Jefferson Street
July 23rd – 4pm to 6pm; Portage Club, 5895 Evergreen Avenue
July 30th – 4pm to 6pm; South Haven Club, 723 Longrun Road
August 6th – 4pm to 6pm; Duneland Club, 521 West 110 North

“We are excited about the partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter County. We hope that through additional funding we can expand the Fresh Mobile Market throughout Lake and Porter County,” stated Arleen Peterson, Executive Director of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

More than 550 families will be able to receive fresh fruits and vegetables at the Market. Mark Jones, Director of Operation for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter Counties said, “We are happy to support the efforts of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. Having their mobile unit at each of our clubs not only gives the program added exposure, but will benefit our Club families in need.”
