The Friends of the Lake County Public Library, 1919 West 81st Ave, Merrillville, were delighted to receive a donation from the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) Chapter 78 of $4,000 at the Lake County Public Library Board of Trustees meeting held on Thursday, April 28. In March, AHEPA Cares Inc. sponsored a cultural event featuring Betty Mahmoody, author of Not Without My Daughter. The money raised went towards The Caring Place and the Friends of Lake County Public Library. The Friends of Lake County Public Library is an independent citizens' organization dedicated to assist in the development of the Library and help support the library’s mission to provide the highest quality informational, educational, cultural and recreational resources and services to residents of all ages in the Lake County Public Library District.
